College student ditches ramen noodles, starts food blog

Self-taught amateur cook Katie VanderMolen, 22, wants other college students to know they don’t have to live on ramen noodles alone.

“Cooking just takes a little perseverance,” said VanderMolen of Springfield, Ill., a senior at DePaul University in Chicago and author of the food blog The College Culinarian, http://thecollegeculinarian.blogspot.com. The sub headline reads, “Simple cooking for college students — on the cheap.”
